How to delete your CleanSpot account
CleanSpot lets you permanently delete your account and the personal data associated with it at any time. There are two ways to request deletion.
Option 1 — In the app (recommended)
If you can sign in to CleanSpot, this is the fastest and most secure route, because deletion is tied to your signed-in account:
- Open the CleanSpot app.
- Go to Profile → Settings.
- Tap Delete my account.
- Type DELETE to confirm, then confirm the deletion.
Your account is deleted right away and you are signed out.
Option 2 — By email (if you can no longer sign in)
If you have uninstalled the app or can no longer sign in, email privacy@cleanspot.cc from the email address registered to your CleanSpot account.
To protect our users, we only act on requests we can tie to the account holder:
- The request must come from the account's registered email address.
- If we have any doubt about your identity, we will ask for additional verification before deleting anything (as permitted under GDPR Article 12(6)).
- We do not action any request we cannot verify as coming from the account holder. This prevents anyone from deleting another person's account.
We complete verified deletion requests within 30 days.
What is deleted
The following are permanently removed and cannot be recovered:
- Your profile and avatar
- Private messages
- Saved items
- Notifications
What is kept (anonymised)
Public content you created — litter spots, cleanup reports, comments, and events — remains visible to the community, but it is anonymised: your name and profile are no longer attached to it. This keeps the shared map and community history intact while removing your personal identity from it.
